Where to Find The Best Tulip Fields Near Amsterdam

Hi Friends!

I fear the Netherlands during tulip season may have permanently altered my brain chemistry...

I've always heard springtime flower fields and gardens in the Netherlands are beautiful, but OMG. I finally understand why everyone loses their minds over tulip season here. The flowers are so gorgeous they genuinely look fake! And don't even get me started on the rows upon rows of tulip fields...

You can imagine my joy when I discovered that the peak bloom of the Netherlands tulip season fell during my birthday week. What a time to be alive! I always take a trip for my birthday, and this year I knew without a doubt I'd be spending it in Amsterdam seeing the nearby tulip fields.

Safe to say, this was one of my favorite birthday trips to date!

In this post, you'll read about:

  • The most beautiful tulip garden near Amsterdam (and how to get there!)
  • The best way to bike past endless rows of tulip fields
  • How to plan your Netherlands tulip season visit
  • Links to guided tours from Amsterdam
  • ...and more!

But Wait! The Party Didn't Stop in Amsterdam...

I rarely ever travel to Europe without visiting at least 2 different cities or countries. During this trip, I was also able to explore Giethoorn, a car-free village in the Netherlands about an hour and 20 minutes north of Amsterdam. You'll be able to read about my visit to Giethoorn in my next newsletter!

Additionally, I stopped to visit my good friend in Rotterdam during this trip as well. Although Rotterdam is also in the Netherlands, it's a whole different vibe than Amsterdam. Curious what I mean by that? Don't worry, you'll see ;).

Lastly, I checked off my 14th country as a solo traveler and visited Belgium! Belgium is a smaller country, so I was able to easily travel between 3 of its most popular cities: Brussels, Brugge, and Ghent. You'll get to read more about how those cities compare, and which one was my favorite (hint: there's a CLEAR winner!)

When I was planning my trip to Japan, I thought Osaka would just be a quick stop between Tokyo and Kyoto. I mean, let's face it: Tokyo is legendary, and Kyoto is historic. TBH, I was expecting Osaka to be my least favorite city out of the 3. Let's just say I was wrong. Osaka ended up being one of the most vibrant, fun, and delicious...
